Tech-Prep high school program enrollment rose to 163,326 students in the state of Texas for 2006-2007 (grades 9-12), an almost 2% increase over the 2005-2006 (grades 9-12) Tech-Prep state enrollment of 160,320.

Over half (1065) of the state's 1967 associate of applied science (AAS) degree programs are Tech-Prep, articulated with one or more high school career and technology education programs. Of these programs, 108 (14%) are Information Technology, 133 (17%) are Health Science, and 157 (20%) are Business, Management, Administration.

About 79% (821) of the state's public school districts with high schools have one or more Tech-Prep program agreements with one or more Texas colleges.

About 55% of high school graduates who participated in Tech-Prep programs entered two-year public colleges or universities in Texas the summer or fall after high school graduation; almost 67% entered within two years. These rates are higher than those for students who did not participate in Tech-Prep programs.

There were 53,386 senior Tech-Prep students in 2006-2007 in the state of Texas. There were $36 million in potential equivalent tuition and fees saved by Tech-Prep students in Texas and $34 million in potential contact hour reimbursement saved by the state of Texas totaling a potential savings of $70 million for the people of the state of Texas.
